Quote from: Drift1 on October 02, 2013, 19:53:47 PMJust thinking (no comments from the peanut gallery, Ratman) ........ about making me a set of custom grenade mirrors with no luck thus far
I started this quest there about July.
You want a "Custom" mirror - What if you were to take an army surplus decommissioned grenade (available 10 bucks at a gun show) and cut it in half with a band saw/ sawsall, then fashion a mounting stem (this could be from any mirror that bolts on your ride), welded to said half-grenade, then afix the mirror glass to the flat side of said half-grenade, fabricate some sort of trim to cover the edges, and there you go.
Easier said than done, I know, but sounds do-able. This would work maybe if you're wanting black mirrors, but would be an ordeal to get chromed. You would need 2 grenades so that you would have a detonator/handle assembly for each one.
Congrats on finding the exhaust Richie! If I see any mirrors I'll let you know.
this smacks of oh we might not want to know......like the guy who built the bike with sidecar....had a wooden 30 cal machine gun made, it looked so real he was arrested at first because it was look and panic before look and check it out......
Quote from: Drift1 on October 02, 2013, 19:53:47 PMThat should be interesting. Do you have any pics of something like this on another bike?custom grenade mirrors
Nice, but what are custom grenade mirrors? Pics?
yes please tell us more, were when and how? Now come out of hiding...also
PICTURES when.......What? NO PICTURES?
Congratulations on the score. Now the you found yours, you can let your secret out of the bag - where did you find it? Where is the best place to find stuff like this? Craigs?
Congrats on the pipes! Always sweeter when the wait is long. Don't forget pics when they are on the bike!
Yes ! Fellow drifter friends you'll be happy to know I will not be pestering about the road house exhaust anymore . Reason being , believe it or not I FINALLY purchased one
In fact it arrived here to the homestead and will be getting dropped off tomorrow to be ceramic coated . Man I can't believe I finally found one after hunting for the last 2 yrs . HAPPY , HAPPY , HAPPY !
Now being that mission is complete it's on to the next . I've contacted numerous companies with CNC machines about making me a set of custom grenade mirrors with no luck thus far
I started this quest there about July . So if anyone has dealt with or can point me in the right direction I sure do appreciate it .
