All the double seat and bag brackets are removable ... The skirt of most seats cover the frame pretty well. I wouldn't grind off anything back there personally.

This is somewhat hard to explain without photos, but here goes. On a 1500, has anyone either cut off or ground off the bracket (just past the rear shock) you connect your saddle bag mounts to? The reason I ask is that I put on a solo seat, and the bracket sits out like a sore thumb, so I want to remove it. So my question is will removing this bracket so close to where the shock mounts cause and structural problems?
