That's how he got his start...he did all his own stunts..we were amazed to find he could sing.
John.
Yeah, I knew that... Michael Crawford was EXCEPTIONALLY silly in that show!
Only fools and horses..
and how many of you knew that Paul Hogan (Crockadile Dundee) started off as a copy of the Benny Hill show..the Paul Hogan show, Michael Crawford started off with 'some mothers do have em' and Brian Connely had a catch phrase 'It's a puppet' and his co star was Larry the loafer.
Billy Connelly was a Welder, then a folk singer, then a comic, and now a presenter.
John.
Roger that... also first Dr. Who I ever saw was when I lived in the UK.
I preferred the UK version of that one, actually. 90% of the shows on BBC1, BBC2 and STV back then were crap... went off about 10pm... but the other 10% were exceptionally good. Nowadays there are 400 channels of crap ... the exceptionally good ones don't seem to last.
There is/was one UK show... Life on Mars... I like the brit version, but didn't care much for the USA version.
I stand corrected..
John.
Yeah he kept trying with the girls in the apt... never worked out for him.
Chief's right on this one. Jack pretended to be gay.
I grew up watching that show in the U.S., so I'm here to tell ya, jack was straight.
Nope, Jack Tripper in Three's Company pretended to be gay so the landlady (and later landlord) wouldn't kick him out.
Quote from: chief on February 25, 2013, 19:24:52 PMI think you spoiled that..the joke was that Robin Trip the man about house was straight and everyone knew it except the idiot landlord, he just pretended to be gay so that he could live with the girls..in the American version he was gay.And A Man About the House became Three's Company.
Some British humour (humor?) doesn't travel across the pond..

Mmmm, fatties. Er, I mean McDonalds.
Actually I treat my body kinda okay. I like to stay away from fast food and focus my "junk" intake on quality junk. Good beer, cigars, fresh baked goods and chocolate. Homemade type love. And it's never too late, enjoy. We'll be dead soon enough.
What!!!
you think we don't have Mc Donalds..
I think you have more fatties than us but we are trying hard to catch up..
I guess I'd like to lose 40lbs but it's too late for me.
John.
And I thought obesity was just a American problem...
Quote from: John Hopkins on February 27, 2013, 21:02:03 PMAs far as I know we still do..
Although these days with obesity it is "Oops sorry love I thought you were in the club"
John.
We have the same problem here. They even have a TV show called "I didn't know I was pregnant". That's how many large, unknowingly-pregnant women we have here. . . . enough to make a TV show.
