I just got off the phone with Pete's tires and John Hopkins is correct......lol....I have never seen that on the side of a tire myself so was not sure. He also told me less and less companies are making the wide white walls anymore, they are becoming a dieing breed of tires. So I am ordering them tomorrow after work and should have them in 5 days.

I am going to apply some common sense here too, and remember other vehicles and rides, I can not think any reason why you can not put a tube into a tubless tire. New tubes, new rim liner/rubbers, and then I should be good to go.
I spent time again tonight trying to find them letters and the only think I could come up with was REINF would be for reinforced tubeless.......I have been thinking of this for a few days.

just my thoughts.....

One would think they would want you to know exactly what you're buying................

Good, I was concerned about that. ;D
Strange how there seems to be nothing online about their lettering.

OK I promise to stay under 230 km/h or 143 mph........

I also knew that I needed tubes and have them on order along with rim rubbers/liners. It was just the lettering that had me confussed.
I will simple call the supplier in the morning and confirm with them about the lettering and what it means. I did send an email but have not gotten a response yet perhaps due to the weekend. Thanks

There are fewer and fewer with spoke wheels. Its easy to confirm... go to the major mfg'rs and look at their road bike listings. Most will tell you to use tubeless with tubes for spoke applications.

That seems strange since so many bikes still have spoked wheels......not disputing it, just seems strange.

I don't think there are any tubed cruiser tires left. (Tubed tires are available for off-road bikes.) For spoked rims you use a tubeless tire with a tube.

230 km/hr is 143 mph...I don't think that would be an issue...and your tires are only H rated...140 mph!

Hey Rat, was told by my mechanic all spoked rims need a inner tube, therefore TT is what you would need.
What's the diff between a TL & TT construction???

TL: Tubeless (TL): Tubeless tyre - Tubetype (TT): Tubetype tyre

http://www.metzeler.com/site/uk/tech-and-safety/understanding-your-tyres.html

That being said, Metzeler allows you to use a TL tire if you use a new Metzler tube and
stay under 230 km/h

REINF TL, I couldn't find anything either.

I have a tire question before I order new ones.

Present tires are Maxxis Classic
Front 130/90 - 16 67H
Rear 140/90 - 16 77H

I would like to put on the Metzler 880 ME
Front 130/90 - 16 TL 67H
Rear 140/90 - 16 REINFTL 73H

I have tried to find out what all them extra letters are, the TL and the REINFTL, ok does anyone have a proper answer......found a few but I could not muddle through the stuff they were sprouting, in plain Canadian would be nice. Thanks.
