ok got to ask are you going to ride your Drifter there? I had to google White Rock, it was farther west then I thought to Canbrook is going to be a decent run for you. Best of luck and hope you are getting better.
Wow, thanks for the kind gestures. It has been a rough year but I am on the path to recovery. Can't wait to get my bike back out on the road, hopefully this spring.
I like the idea of shipping to Montana if 49Reo doesn't mind picking it up and bringing it across the line. It would do me some good to go on a bit of a road trip - we could meet in Cranbrook.
49Reo, are you sure you don't mind?
Thanks again Never Too Late
An they wonder why no one uses Canada post...lol...I use Grey Hound bus lines to send stuff to my sister in Kingston, fast and cheaper by a huge amount....
I hear ya. Shipping between Canadian addresses is more expensive than shipping from Canada to the U.S.; I listed a Corbin seat on eBay about 3-4 years ago, had 2 people interested and wanting shipping costs. So, checked the postal rates, to ship to Calgary Alberta (about 700 miles) was more money than shipping it to the mid-west. Go figure; to me that made no sense, but it is what it is. They get you coming or going.....

I'll take the tarnished Knight anytime......now if I was in line or along the route of easy get it here, I would do it in a heartbeat. That is why I asked D1 how close he is to Fort Drum. The USAF unit here does a weekly run to Fort Drum and brings things back for their mini PX and other items and duty free too. But it would be next to the same cost to ship from ON to BC via UPS or any service that I checked....if he lived in ON I would have taken care of it, but you got the nod this time.....
So what does that make you.....the Black Knight?
or just the tarnished knight?
Seriously, though, just want to help out.
I think and it has been a wahile since I brought anything back but if it is your property or a gift to you it should be free. I would check that ....
but you are our knight in shining armourWhat does UPS need to ship it to Montana zip code 59870? If you get it there I will bring it back with me; I am allowed around $750.00 duty free at the border on my way back so won't have to pay duty on it bringing it in to Canada.
Regards,
49Reo
Now if we could only get this to work.....
That's a pretty cool idea RATMAN....I'm sure that's never been done before. It would be like a Drifter run without the bike.Could start something here, bud.Maybe call it "Drifters Gone Postal" .....LOL
Refer to previous post...
Drifter1 you are going to help NTL which is really nice to see people helping people, and so nice of our shining Knight in white satin to help out to eh Hoser.....lol.....refer to post above too......
Drifter1 go to the members list and see who live next in line to you and see if we could or you could work a transfer system across the US to Montana, from member to member to get the system to our Hoser in Montana and he could then run it into BC.
Thanks for all the ideas and help guys...I'm going to contact NTL and figure this transaction out one way or nother
