Now all said and done the reason I was missing a lot was I needed help in getting the lift to clear the frame and tabs but how.....a chunk of 2x6x6 to lift it to slightly off level but yet balanced on the side stand and sturdynow I can move around and manoeuvre the lift into place around the mono shock.....then add the spacers for the front and bingo it is up and safe, this lift also has a safety feature of a lock to keep it from going down over time....really nice feature to have. The front wooden peices of course need to be cut to the correct size to make them secure, and the weight of the bike will hold them in place.
Tomorrow I'll go and get it welded up and see if it works then....fingers crossed...thanks 49.....

as you can see the mono shock hangs lower then the tabs on either side that is the reason for the 1" spacers. the only issue now is that the front is in a down angle due to the tabs, but this will be solved bu using a couple of wooden spacers and you can use a couple of diffrent thicknesses to get the lift you want to get the front tire to clear or to just take the weight off the front tire

part of the issue is that the mono shock is really low and gets in the way...

Drifter1 here we go, the whole jack is heavy and unweilding to move around if you are alone and in a tight space. But I finally think I have it figured out.
Jack height compressed with the required spacers is 5.5"
tab on the low side is 5.25
frame on low side is 6"
grease nipple on the mono shock is 4.75"
tab on high side is 7.75"
frame is 8" on high side.
found some flat stock to allow the lift to match the frame original arms were 12" extended them out to 15", then had to cut a section out for the mono shock nipple.
I then added some square stock that was 17x2x1" to make it lift the frame.

;)  ok back to it and I was almost done with this and ready to put it on the backburner, and just go and spent the funds on a jack like Troll's. Till I thought of something I had read about driving up on a 2x4 or something. My issue is most of the time I want to tweek, tinker, do work on the bike I am alone and safety is paramount in my mind for both me and the bike. I can not move that heavy floor jack about and hold the bike upright to get it under there. Again depending on how bad my arthritis is affecting me at that time I cannot bend over or kneel down to move the jack about either. Then in the smae problem I can not move fast enough if the bike is falling, so I have to think this out and I am sure I might have it now, so off to try it.....

ok well after a couple of attemps I came very close to admiting defeat on this project. The driving to my buddies garage to use his plasma cutter and welding tools, about an hour drive one way was getting to be a bit much to make little adjustments and then finding they were off. So today I was sitting there thinking about it and I tried something and it seems to be working, I can lift the rear of the bike and take some weight off the front wheel but not enough to do a tire change. But then after more thinking I might have that solved just have to wait till stores are open so I can get a bit of metal to try something. Never admit defeat......I can thnak Chilli for that last thought.....

PC the 800 has 2 tabs that hang down and those gave me a start on the idea....thanks

49 the tabs will be the focal point of my lift. Thansk for that idea to...lol......community idea it was......

off to go and clean the driveway and such till I can find some scrap metal.....

ok stuff happened and I never got the pic's up, but anyway the 2x2's did not work as I wanted them to the mono shock is in the way. So today I went to a buddy's shop and he lent me a hand, we cut some flat stock and some 2x2x2" lifts. Now this weekend I'll be working on it, I have a Santa gig Friday night for a Sqn Family party.....36 kids to deal with for about an hour.
So the plan is the flat stock will take the palce of the 2x2x14's. I'll take pic's Sat as I tweek it, it is at present cut and tacked into palce and this allows me to move parts and get them lined up correctly. Ok later.

The 1500 has a tab towards the back of the right frame rail, but none on the left.  I can get you some measurements if you like.

Mine has a tab on both sides; I made my adapter to hang from these tabs.

Regards and such,

there is a tab hanging down on both sides, again a problem is i have never seen a 1500 in person, but when I contated the people who made the other adapters they told me it would not fit an 800. I sent emails to a lot of lift companies and got the same response. If I had a 1500 colse by I could check the measurements....

Does the 800 have a tab hanging down off of the frame like the 1500, or is the bottom of the frame smooth from front to back on both sides?  Hard to tell from the pics.....
