pants on the jack? why?
Put yer pants on first.....
ok well after a couple of attemps I came very close to admiting defeat on this project. The driving to my buddies garage to use his plasma cutter and welding tools, about an hour drive one way was getting to be a bit much to make little adjustments and then finding they were off. So today I was sitting there thinking about it and I tried something and it seems to be working, I can lift the rear of the bike and take some weight off the front wheel but not enough to do a tire change. But then after more thinking I might have that solved just have to wait till stores are open so I can get a bit of metal to try something. Never admit defeat......I can thnak Chilli for that last thought.....
PC the 800 has 2 tabs that hang down and those gave me a start on the idea....thanks
49 the tabs will be the focal point of my lift. Thansk for that idea to...lol......community idea it was......
off to go and clean the driveway and such till I can find some scrap metal.....
ok stuff happened and I never got the pic's up, but anyway the 2x2's did not work as I wanted them to the mono shock is in the way. So today I went to a buddy's shop and he lent me a hand, we cut some flat stock and some 2x2x2" lifts. Now this weekend I'll be working on it, I have a Santa gig Friday night for a Sqn Family party.....36 kids to deal with for about an hour.
So the plan is the flat stock will take the palce of the 2x2x14's. I'll take pic's Sat as I tweek it, it is at present cut and tacked into palce and this allows me to move parts and get them lined up correctly. Ok later.
mine do not holes in them and they are not that big really...size to come tomorrow...

Mine has a tab on both sides; I made my adapter to hang from these tabs.

after wrok tomorrow I will ge them and compare to yours and then check that drawing out once more and ask one of my machinest buddies to look it over too. Thanks

there is a tab hanging down on both sides, again a problem is i have never seen a 1500 in person, but when I contated the people who made the other adapters they told me it would not fit an 800. I sent emails to a lot of lift companies and got the same response. If I had a 1500 colse by I could check the measurements....
Does the 800 have a tab hanging down off of the frame like the 1500, or is the bottom of the frame smooth from front to back on both sides? Hard to tell from the pics.....
Yes I asked around, sorry now that I never kept the emails or the info collected but I have as of yet have to find a kit/adapter for the 800 once I get mine done and working I'll check it against the one there and see if the mesurments fit. Also I personal do not like the frame sitting on that small bit of metal...if you wrench hard or move the wrong way the bike can slide off the lift...not a good thing if you live alone....
I wasn't aware that the first one in that link wouldn't work for an 800.
.......aaahhhh,man!Had no idea.sorry RATMAN.Havn't had a chance to even start tinkering with that project yet.
Yes seen them and asked around and seems that is for the 1500, not the 800 Drifter. also the frame is sitting on the small part and does not seem stable if you are going to working on it......jmo.
RATMAN looks like you have been busy,my man. Thanks for that updated info & pics.I don't know if you have this link or not,but a good friend sent me this.Think this is what we been after.Go into the section Gadget's Tool box then click on lift design...Thanks PC....please ignore if you already have this......Did some of the previous post get deleted or something?
