Thanks all!  As I lack the skills necessary to be frugal, I'll pony up the $50 bucks.  Kind of the way paying for a gym membership is like a "fat tax".

ah but it does have the tabs......I have contacted about 4 places that claim to have adaptors for the Kawasaki Drifters...Vulcans....but when I specifiy the Vulcan Drifter 800 I get the oh sorry it will not work.
Chilli if I was able to weld and to have a shop to work in I would make a hockey sock full and sell them at enought to cover parts and shipping, but alas I have no shop nor meatal skills.....but I am going to make one for myself and then find someone to weld it for me.
I have tha normal jack that is for motorcycles from Canadian Tire

http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/AutoTools/LiftingEquipment/PRD~0091015P/MotoMaster+Motorcycle+Jack%2C+1500+lbs.jsp?locale=en

but the oil pan and the monoshock are in the way, also the arms are a bit too short to reach across. So once I get the bike into the living room and can lay on the floor in some comfort...hard getting my buffalo sized carcass down there and can figure out what I am going to do I am going to get on it and make an adaptor......perhaps my buddy 49 will let me send the aprts to him COD and he can weld them and return them to poor me at his cost.....he is such a nice guy ......or the Hammer dude pcarrell will find me one on ebay and send it to me as a xmas gift for all the hard times he has given me......food for thought.........

I have one I got on ebay but this one appears to be built to higher standards than mine.  It is very nice to be able to jack the bike up strap it to the jack and move it around the garage as needed. Mine will spend a few months on there this winter. Worth the money. I cant imagine blocking the bike with scissor jacks....

As far as 800s.. RatMan, Id say if you made one for an 800, you could sell as many as you could make if there is a need for them. Not owning an 800, I dont know why it wouldnt work? Im guessing the 800 frame doesnt have the vertical tabs on the bottom of the frame they attach the adapter to.

Contacted them via email last night this will not work on a 800, so looks like I have to build my own.......

I'm with 49 on this one. I have a jack similar to the one in the
pics and my bike doesn't sit well on it. This will make the jack useful

49Reo, I prefer the word frugal (economical in use or expenditure; prudently saving or sparing).
I to am going to make my own.

Those work real well with the motorcycle lifts such as sold by Harbor Freight. Being the cheap bugger that I am, I built my own, cost a little less than $20.00, but no powder coating, or fancy end caps. An excellent buy for for the money.

Hope this helps.

Regards and such,

49Reo

Looking for a bike lift that will work with the Drifter.  Came across this and I'm looking for any input you might have.
