I'm on vacation in Washington DC right now. We took an old people's bus tour. We went o the Smithsonian today, and I found this little gem in the air and space museum. It's a Curtiss V-8 from around 1907......

Sad to hear about Dumb A$$ people. but at least you both came out alive for the better part of it. I have a firend in your town from another forum ....have to ask her why she did it to you....

But also with your moniker and I'll bet you are not a little person, and such a nice machine and they did not see you...they need glasses.

Tough break all around. No pun intended. I don't suppose the clown in the cage stuck around?

I ride with a group called the Desert Dawgs. We are about 40 strong with every bike above 600cc excepted to ride with us. The bike has already been stripped down and just waiting for J&P Cycles to deliver all the new parts.  It should be rid-able within two weeks, to bad the bone Doc said it will be six to twelve months before I'll be able to ride.

Man, that's a pretty bike......and what a story!  We ought to start calling you Superman with a flight like that!   ;D

So, repairs are in order for this winter I take it.......probably not riding with that shoulder.

Here are a couple of pictures of my 2001, 1500 before I had to lay her down two weeks ago. I had a cager cut me off and try to do a right hand turn from the left lane while I was in the right side lane about 15 feet behind him. For about a second or so I thought I was going to t-bone him at 30mph. But as I hit the brakes my ass end slide out from under me and the bike started to slide on it's right side. The tires caught on a large crack in the asphalt and high sided me and threw me off the  left side of the bike. The lady at the gas pump that witnessed the whole thing side I missed the rear of the cage by about two feet. She said as soon as I went airborne, I curled up in a ball. (thank god for 10 years of jumping out of airplanes when I was in the Army) Did one complete flip in the air and landed on my right shoulder. (Shattering my shoulder) Then I finished with two more asphalt rolls covering about twenty feet, rolled up onto my feet and walked back and started checking out my bike. Once all the adrenaline was gone I sat down by a light pole and asked her to call 911 cause me right arm was killing me.
The front highway/road guard and the apes saved my bike. They absorbed all the damage other then scratching the chrome on my floorboards, passenger pegs and muffler.
I know for a fact I will never own a bike in the future that doesn't have highway/road guard on it. It saved my bike from being totaled.

That's a black powder coated solid billet aluminum piece.  Came with the bike.

Nice!  Is that paint on the air cleaner, or some sort of custom cover?

Gotta dig the gooseberry!
