Fuel economy and power seem to be improved to me, but I've not dyno'd that to prove it.OR, removing the baffles could make the bike run WORSE... some back pressure is a good thing when it comes to engine performance. Additionally, adjustments to the EFI is often required.

THANKS!
Yes....Im thinking about getting a performance air intake installed...
<-- same pipes, not de-baffled and get friggin' hot!!!
so don't think you have anything to worry about there... as for performance?!? i am no expert but removing the baffles reduces the restriction of exhaust gases... which could make the bike perform better... but i am taking a guess here that if you have better flow out, you want better flow in... which means an air intake mod... then you are talking needing a fuel processor... oh the joys of modding!
someone on here may be able to provide a before and after dyno that would prove it one way or the other.
Hi Guys.
I purchased a 1500 Drifter that came with V&H longshots and baffles installed.
The thing is....I remove the baffles to make the bike lowder.
My question is, will this affect the bike in any way?
The only thing I notice so far is, that the pipes gets very hot.....At least Hotter than my other bike (a Shadow) This Drifter is my 3rd bike so, it well could be that they run hotter than others?
Now....Does the baffles help it in any way so is not that hot?
