- March 14, 2012, 21:09:38 PMI purchased a new in box windshield on eBay, Kawasaki pn: K46001-025; when the box arrived (I had it shipped to my fathers place in Montana) the box had loose pieces in it; holes in box, 2 bolts and 2 washers missing; parts bag was open, parts throughout the packing material. Fortunately the windshield wasn't scratched up. Drifter logo on windshield as per listing pics and info. However, the windshield stays are for a Classic, not a Drifter; slight difference being there are 2 holes, one on each side, on the front of the top triple clamp on the Classic. The drifter doesn't have these. So in order to mount this, I will have to drill and tap holes in the triple clamp. The seller did say he would send the missing hardware; too bad he didn't package properly. Long story short, when buying sight unseen, whether on eBay or elsewhere, it comes down to "buyer beware".
I will pick up the windshield in May, and see if there are any other issues involved in mounting a "Drifter" windshield on my Drifter.
