I'm lucky enough to have two local gas stations that sell non-ethanol premium fuel. that's all a run in all my toys (Drifter 1500 included) never have to worry about fuel stabilizers or "fogging" my other carbed equipment (atv, atc, various small engines on farm equipment)
I've never fogged either, but I try to add Stabil or Seafoam or something to the tank before winter, also.
I've never done it either, but then I'm lazy
What I do with both my bikes (both have carbs) is do my best to ride them at times even through the dead of winter. I understand you fellas up north probably can't do that. I also try to run non-ethanol gas during winter when I can't ride as often. Guys on the forum for my other bike who do winterize say the main thing is to fill the tank with non-ethanol fuel, or at least put in Seafoam, and run the bike for a few miles before storing it, to keep things from gumming up in the fuel system. Just my 1.5 cents.
I've never bothered but I don't think it would hurt anything (although starting in the spring might be a bit tougher).
Hey, anyone have any comments about fogging the engine for winter storage?
I have decided recently to do this to all my carburetor-ed bikes but had never done it before.
Easy enough to do and a can of fogging oil doesn't cost much, but does it help?
