Sure yeah that does it for me, thanks. I'm gonna stay south of the border.
I do like those round reflectors better than the square ones in fact I've got some round ones on order. Oh yeah I've heard how they check your noise level on the spot. Just guessing, my bike would probably not pass.
Now to see if I can get this correct for you. If the bike is bought with the reflectors on then they are supposed to stay on. But guys will remove them and say they never had them. The rub here is some place and each province is slightly different, some Service centers that do the Safety checks will insist that the vehicle have reflectors for their safety check. Then people remove them.
I swapped my square ones out to round ones over the winter because I like to have as much visibility at night as I can have. Same as the stickers on the bike other than the VIN number plate they can be removed, like the ones about the chain and then the ones on the back fender they can be peeled off.
Signal lights on the front have to be clear or amber lens, rear ones if they are a combination marker signal light they need to be in red, only signal light then amber or clear. So my front ones are amber, my rear ones are red.
Now as far as riding your "American" bike in Canada, now this is normally they will not bother you for something so simple as reflectors, same as my spot lights are on all the time, I have never been stopped for that or questioned about that in all my rides. Now that being said.....you can not be an a$$ hole and be doing dumb a$$ stuff.
In Quebec you can be stopped and your exhaust checked with a hand held device for db levels, you can just pass and if the Suerte De Quebec (State Troopers) want to be pricks they then ask to see your helmet and it had best be a proper DOT approved lid or you are getting a taxi home......lol...
Does that answer your question......
So this is kind of a weird one but do you guys up there in Canada have to have reflectors on your bikes to be legal? Down here in the US and as far as I know that's most of the states but definitely here in my state of Washington we have to have side and rear reflectors or we'll get ticketed. Reason I ask is I see videos on YouTube of what I think are Canadian bikes and you guys don't have to have, or maybe you do but have removed, the stock reflectors, and you've changed over some of your signal light lenses to other than amber. Are you guys pushing the envelope or is that OK with law enforcement up there? I'm trying to do some things to my bike, not quite stripping it down to a bobber, but remove unnecessary stuff and I wish I could take off those darn side reflectors.
I don't really want local law-enforcement to pull me over for anything, even something as minor as equipment.
