e-mail scam
« on: August 10, 2021, 07:52:29 AM »
Just a heads up to all members about an e-mail scam that involves some Ass-Wipe that is using names and e-mail addressees from this site. This AW is sending an e-mail from one member to another claiming he needs a favor. The favor being that he is having trouble getting a gift card online for his niece for her birthday and because his knees are bad he can't physically go get one himself. Could i go out and get one for him.
Man, some people will try anything for a few bucks these days.

Member email addresses aren't visible on the site by default. But, there is an option in your profile which allows members to email you. Check your profile and make sure that is NOT checked if you don't want email. If it is turned off, the only way to contact another member is via PM unless they post their email address in a post.

All new membership requests are passed through a spammer database upon registration. And we have several anti-spam resources at work. But the battle continues.

Cheers
