Okay sounds good I will start with trying to straighten the one I currently have, and if not maybe I will have to keep an eye out for a used one or break down and buy a new one.

So it is both the mount as well as the floorboard that is bent.  I have found one on ebay and just wanted to confirm with people if that looks to be the right one?  There are no pictures of the backside unfortunately but when I looked up the part online the top of the mount seems to match what I can see in this one.

I do NOT think that's the right floor board.  It looks like a LEFT one to me,  LOL....      :o 8)

All kidding aside, though, it does not appear to be the correct one for the Drifter.  Looks too short and has the wrong rubber pad on it... in addition to the wrong shift lever

No Worries

I did try twice asking for more photos Old Drifter, sadly the seller has not responded to me.  I was also suspicious of the fact that it only had the one shifter and was not sure what that was about.

I would ask the seller for additional pics and possibly measurements. Sellers usually don't mind sending additional pics and measurements to try to help sell their items.

Mmmmh, there's one thing that makes me doubt: the single footshift lever.
The Drifter's footshift has got a double leverage: one for the heel and the other for the tip.
Maybe that floorboard is from a Classic... and if so, I don't know if it is compatible with a Drifter.

Also the mount is different so I will have to check if that is bent

Thanks everyone I wasn't get a lot of results when I searched for the 800 so I thought I better ask before buying.

The 1500 and 800 floorboards are interchangeable.
When I bought the Jardin's surfer ones, the ad said they were for 1500 only, but they've fitted my 800 as a glove!

Lots of used ones on Ebay.....here's another example:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/1999-99-KAWASAKI-VN1500-VN-1500-VULCAN-DRIFTER-FRONT-LEFT-FLOORBOARD-FOOTREST/143025372161?hash=item214cf9fc01:g:NuQAAOSwRYNb-HoN:rk:7:pf:0

Some like this with just the floorboard, some with all the mounting hardware. Some in pairs, mostly listed for the 1500.

I'd check if the part numbers are the same for the 800 and the 1500  on a site like bike bandit, before buying something that just said 1500, but some listings say they fit both. Lots of bikes being parted...so look at used parts listings carefully.

It looks like this one might fit. It's certainly not perfect but probably good enough and pretty sure it's the right one for an 800 Drifter.

My left side floorboards is badly bent from the previous owner dropping the bike in his garage, just wondering if a floorboard of a classic would fit?  Or if anyone knows of a used one kicking around?  Thanks
