In the end, I purchased a set of NOS Fire&Steel struts (K53021-098) from CMSNL in the Netherlands. The set included parts for both solo and double seats. M10 bolts were also included. I only had to rethread the holes for the bag loops in order to use standard M8 bolts.

Then, instead of attaching bag loops to the struts, I ordered the following brackets (KF0002N) from a Swedish shop:

This is the direct link to their UK website:

The brackets are sturdy and long enough to cover the entire length of the bags, preventing them from sagging and hitting the rear fender.

I just bought a set of these mounts for a project I'm working on.
Paid £125 with delivery off eBay, but later found them for £95 on Google!
They took two weeks to travel 160 miles from Glasgow to my home address, upon arrival it appears from the label they originated in Pakistan.
There was no instructions, and I was unable to find any online.
Anyway, 6 pieces of mounting bracket plus M8 nuts, bolts, washers and dome nuts to mount the bags only.
These were poor quality so I replaced them with some better ones from my garage.
You may also need some M10 Japanese thread bolts (1.25 pitch I think) to attach the mounts, unless you rethread the holes - I just used an old M10 bolt, a socket bar and some grease!
The long mounts are required on a single seat bike with the smaller mounts to attach the dual seat and grab rail.
There is no clearance problems but be aware if your bags are square style and not sloped ones they may rub against the rear shocks.
I'll post some pics when I get chance.

They advertise on eBay here in the UK, seems pretty well made stuff.
No problems with sun warping here!

the mounts are decent but ....but their bag lids have a tendency to warp in the sun....I use chrome oem mounts with Easy Brackets for Vulcan 800s as the mounting holes line up perfectly....makes it easy to take off the bags when needing to get them out of the way.  I don't like bags that are permanently mounted to brackets....makes taking them off for any reason a much bigger pain in the butt.  I have both black and brown saddelbag, seats and crash bar chap sets to match whatever color I decide to run with for a while.

Hi there,

Are any of you familiar with saddleline.com?

I'm currently looking at their bag mounts for the Drifter 1500, which appear to be a 1:1 copy of the OEM mounts:
https://saddleline.com/product/1500-saddleline-kawasaki-1500-vulcan-drifter-saddlebags-mounting-brackets/

Does anyone know if the product is well made?

Thanks!
