Everything You Need to Know - 2024 Suzuki V-Strom 800 Touring

The 2024 Suzuki V-Strom 800 Touring ($10,499) is positioned in the new motorcycle category as a versatile and affordable middleweight-plus-sized adventure-tourer that bridges the gap between entry-level ADVs and adventure bike models. It offers an attractive package for experienced riders seeking a capable and comfortable product for road-going escapades. Here's everything you need to know about Suzuki's 2024 V-Strom 800 Touring adventure sport bike.

This motorcycle is all-new for the 2024 model year. It's powered by Suzuki's 776cc parallel-twin engine (read the Suzuki Introduces 776cc Parallel-Twin Engine 2023 article), water-cooled dual-valve camshafts with an eight-valve cylinder head. It's rated at 72 hp at the business end of that 17-inch rear wheel and upwards of 50 lb.-ft. of torque. It drinks from a generous 5.3-gallon fuel tank and delivers 36 mpg. The cable-actuated clutch, six-speed transmission, and chain final drive round things off.

This motorcycle with a full tank of gas weighs in at 500 pounds. It rolls on 19-inch front and 17-inch rear cast aluminum wheels shod with Dunlop's Japanese-spec D614 rubber. Suspension-wise, it employs a Showa inverted fork and a linkage-equipped Showa shock with this handy remote preload adjustment. The fork also offers preload adjustment with nearly six inches of travel, fore and aft.

A stacked LED headlamp, mechanically adjustable windscreen, LED turn signals, and plastic hand guards are also included. Lastly, an OE-fitted lockable top case swallows up to 10 gallons of cargo. It's also key-matched to the ignition of this motorcycle.

This bike has triple-disc hydraulic brakes with adjustable ABS. We also get adjustable traction control and a really slick-shifting up-and-down quickshifter. This motorcycle has Suzuki's tried-and-true SDM-S combined engine power mode and throttle map adjustments. The V-Strom 800 Touring is built in Japan, retails for $10,499, and carries a one-year warranty.
