Thank you Bucko for the reply....but I'm looking for an add-on converter to go from dual to single fire and have nothing that specifies this, I have found converters that have no specifics, very vague, one way or the other. Then I tried looking for a new tech, 'dual fire" and again, nothing specific??? If you have any recommendations it would be very much appreciated.

What kind of tach is it?  I know Barons tachs have an add-on module that does the conversion.

When I went to dual coils, four plugs, twin pickups on my 98" SuperGlide, I got a tach filter from Dyna to solve the problem.

Electronic tachometers usually work by 'counting' 'pulses' from the coils but these bikes have 'dual fire' coils which means they file on both the compression stroke and the exhaust stroke.  Many tachometers have a switch to select 'single fire' or 'dual fire' coils, and those that don't often have an 'add on' that 'fixes' a singe fire tach on a dual fire coil.  You should check with the tach MFR.

I hope you might be able to help with the installation of a tachometer on my 800 Drifter, the unit came with no install instructions, but I used my Google-Fu skills to get it almost there...BUT! It reads 2X's the RPM's?? any help would be fantastic.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
