Drifter 22 I live in Salem, Ore. I just had my 02's front fender, tank and side cover done ( see Honoring their Sacrifice in Mods) I went to the local Harley shops and got cards from people who work at their homes. The local shop wanted to charge $3000.00 for the paint job. The Artist that did my bike Charged $1500.00. She is going to paint my rear fender this fall for almost $400.00 Look for those painters that advertise by word of mouth. Not all are expensive and they do good work. Keep shopping around.

You realize that you will have to remove the entire drive line and everything associated with it to paint the frame...right? I had the front and rear fenders of my '01 painted by a friend. He used computer color matching, and it came out great. Factory paint is  priced like it was liquid platinum. Not trying to dissuade you, at all, but it might be cheaper, in the long run to buy another bike that doesn't need paint.......especially if you are going to have to hire the job out. I don't know about L.A. prices, but around here, in Wisco, you will spend about $3000 on a basic paint job from a bike painter. A lot of body shops can do bikes, but won't because of the small parts and the labor involved.
