I must say that you've been very unlucky with your scoot, and that's quite strange, because the Drifters are strong and reliable machines.
Me, it's 25 years now since I've bought mine back in july 1999 and I've never had, if my memory is not fallin' over, any trouble at all with her...
Maybe the previous owner of your Drifter made a big mess with her!

Owning a red and black 2001 Drifter for 4 Months ? 1st the vacuum tap failed and filled the motor with petrol then the O rings of the little black tube from the water pump leaked .Next the motor blew oil out through the clutch cover gasket all over the back of the bike and rear tyre ?? not much fun at all ?? some moron had taken off the breather tube and air valve from the rocker boxes to the air filter and blocked the T with a bottle top ? there is a smell breather tube from the rear cylinder to the air filter box but obviously not enough ? why did some moron think they knew more than Kawasaki Heavy Industries about motorcycle building ??? best regards to all Steve
