Answered my own question.. just kept tweaking the controls and bars and mostly got things back in the proper position...

buying used bikes is always fun... never really know what has or hasnt been done.

the show goes on...

Because im a bit mental I notice things that many (or at least most) do not.

backstory - i recently bought a 1500 drifter and I am going thru it top to bottom and in the process making it "my own".

I noticed the other day that the fluid reservoir (clutch and brake) sit at a rather odd angle, as in not upright. Meaning that if I were to open one up, the fluid will not be level and if full, it will spill out... so I had the notion that perhaps the handlebar position had been moved by the PO. So I rotated the bars to "flatten" (as in make horizontal with the ground) the fluid reservoirs. That worked until I realized the mirrors were way out of whack and in order to make them useful as mirrors, the bars couldnt been titled back as far... so now im wondering if the PO hasnt swapped out the bars at some point and thats throwing things off?

Here is a link to a pic of what they look like when the bars are positioned so the mirrors can be used (I cant figure out how to post my own pic.. so link.

I know this makes me a bit wierd to be fixating on such a thing... BUT I CANT HELP IT!!!  :o

Best I can tell from looking at pics on the web.. such as this one... they "appear" to be mostly level.. unlike mone

ok... so if anyone is here and got this far.... any thoughts?? besides the fact that I am perhaps a bit nuts
