Opinions wanted on dual seat for Drifter 800

On the 1500 I have seen the use of a "chummy" or "chummie" seat... its the old Indian/Harley method of two up seating. These are custom made of course. May be an option for the 800.

Personally, I don't see it being used as a two-up if you ride that way a large part of the time... I've done it... just not real comfortable unless you are both naked and the ride is short.

I have a stock 2 up seat from a 2000 Drifter 800. I took it off to put on a spring seat. I also have the saddle bags and mounts as well.

The only options left is a new corbin, used kaw oem and option, used travhorse, or custom... though I've never seen a custom dual.

I have owned corbins for a very long time. They are firm and I really like that. I am VERY uncomfortable on most oem bike seats nowadays... hot spots, too soft, etc. The seat and your butt eventually get comfortable with each other if you ride much. A couple of years ago we did 5000 miles on one of our bikes with a corbin... never sore, no hot spots/monkey butt even at 110 deg.

Lastly, the corbin is the best looking dual for the drifter out there and the only one you can buy new.

Remember to factor in the cost of the hardware for the dual. You HAVE to have that for non-corbin seats. And, that may be as hard to find as a seat.

Kawasaki doesn't sell one any longer. The Corbin may be expensive but it looks much better than many of the others. And, with the corbin you don't need any other hardware. The corbin is a "firm" seat... not everyone likes that.

I just purchased a 2006 Drifter 800 in great condition.  I need some feedback on a dual seat.  Is the dual seat available from Kawasaki worth looking at?  I like the Corbin dual seat, but it is a bit pricey.
