Front-Fork Sliders Re-Finishing

The lacquer on the sliders on my 800 had failed in patches and the patchy appearence was letting the rest of the bike down. While I had the legs off for an oil change I took the opportunity to re-finish and re-lacquer the forks.
I used a kit of abasive impregnated sponge mops and cotton mops that I had seen being used. The abrasive mops are graded coarse to fine, and the hard and sofy cotton mops are used for finishing with the polish of choice. By selecing which to use you can get a finish anything you like up to mirror.
It very easy to use and get just the finish that I wanted. (For the few nooks and crannies I used the same sort of mops in miniature with my Dremel).
If you need to do any alloy re-finishing, then I recommend this kit.
