It's even better.
Now jump on and go ride that beauty!

I love my swingin' bike!

Final setup - I added the studs and fringe to the F&S seat (bought it used without either)  The weird thing is when I cleaned it up (it was filthy from being stored in a guys garage), the lower loose flaps attached to the main body turned a really light colored tan....I used a mild cleaner (simple green ready to use) and it just removed the coloring...looked almost like it was just surface dyed....but it still looks okay.  The fringe and studs help.

no worries....I only have one spare set right now....hopefully I can post a few pics tonight of it off of the bike and with an oem Vulcan backrest.  I designed the setup to work with both.  the nice part about the Vulcan backrest set up is that you can adjust the angle of the backrest independently from the tilt of the rack....

Great fab work and high quality looks and style.  Price is a bargain for that set-up.  I would be a buyer but have OEM backrest set in box for two up seat use and OEM solo rack set up for solo seat.

I'm hoping now that I have the backrest setup, my wife might want to go on some short jaunts over to the coast this summer....she said no way to sitting on the back with just a grab rail...maybe because I kept popping wheelies at take off...LOL  just kidding...She was looking at the setup and I said since I had it finished they way I wanted, I was going to sell the whole thing....(I have the same setup with an oem black -2-p seat as well) and she goes "why?".  I said because no one will ride with me (meaning her)...surprisingly she says "that could change with that backrest"....so who knows....

Great job!
And the rack setup of your bike is very cool.  8)

Some might think it's a little steep, but the damn hardware (stainless steel button bolts and locknuts) costs over $15 alone.  I had to have a couple of mock-ups done with different length brackets and hole spacing before it finally came out correctly.  and yes, it is extremely comfortable...plus I really hate the goofy look of the oem passenger seat rail...looks like a drunken engineer's afterthought.....

Good looking rack setup, I like it. $150 seems like a good deal, considering the cost of custom fabrication.

No Worries

I bet it is comfortable, nothing like having a back rest and a place to strap a bag.

I'm going to post a picture of the assembly off of the bike and without the backrest pad so people can see what it consists of.  I really like the amount of position adjustment that can be made....not everyone sits on the back half of the seat the same...the mounts can move up and down at both the front and back, plus the rack tilts up to 20 degrees.....helps to fine tune the position....

Very nice! Pricing is good too. Good work. Thanks

So...I finally finished the design and got two sets of my new rear rack and backrest mount for both 1500 and 800 2-up seats.  The set up consists of 4 pieces (right and left side mounts, rear rack and backrest pad mount).  This set up is tilt adjustable at the rack and also at the seat mounting points (slight up and down and tilt).  The backrest pad mount has about 2 3/4 inches of front to back travel.  You can also use an oem backrest pad and chrome mount instead of mine, but it sits the backrest up about 4 inches higher.  That set up has more adjustment (backrest tilt AND rack tilt, independently).  This works with or without oem saddlebag mounts.  I include a set of chrome spacers for rearmost bracket mounting points on each side if using with saddlebag mounts.  The mounting brackets and backrest pad mount are made from 3/16" steel, the rack is 10 ga.  All are powder coated black.  I would like feedback on the set up and pricing at $150 including domestic shipping and hardware.  Pictures are from my personal set up.....backrest pad is NOT included in price....I purchased my Indian style pads off of ebay for about $85 ea.  They are leather and designed to attach to Indian mounts, but they work nicely on my setup and are very comfortable.
