Rear turn signal replacement

It depends on what year your are working with. The blacked out ones are just a little different from the chromed ones. First, you remove the taillight assy. by removing the three 10mm nuts under the fender, then remove the two special plugs that connect the t'signals to the harness. Might be a good idea to identify which is left/right at this point...Pop off the big rubber cover over the nut on the signal side, and slide it down the wire and off. The plug will fit through, just barely. The signal assy is now loose and easily pulled out and away. The big difference between the black and the chrome is that the chrome ones have a cover over the fender stay that looks like a bumper, and you may feel that it's necessary to remove that, first...2 phillips screws hold them on....

Ok, how I can only tighten my turn signal, it is now little loose. Is there any bolt inside the turn signal rod cover?

Thank y'all for the help, I couldn't find anything in my manual either but Trolls instructions and the diagram from ronayers.com were very helpful. I got all the disassembly done only to realize I did not order the correct replacements so I think the Ron Ayers link will pay off two fold. Thanks again

  ok I just spent the time looking through 3 manuals, and sad to say or I really need new glasses, but there is nothing about removal of the signal lights I could find......

I am taking the originals off and replacing them

 Are you taking the original right off, or just replacing a part of them?

They are not that hard to take apart, you will need to get into the tail light to disconnect the harness however.

I need to replace my rear turn signals but cannot figure out how to disassemble them, I feel like there is something small I'm over looking, but as a noob I figured I'd go to the experts. Any advice on the subject would be much appreciated.
