Front tire pressure

  Been using the recommended tire pressures on my '01 1500 since I got it. 121,000 miles as or right now, and the tire wear is normal. Some tires wear or "cup" ( actually known as chevron wear, caused by braking forces) due to tread design or compound faster than others. Michelins have been lasting about 18,000 miles, Metzelers only around 12....(actually, the NEW Metzelers I put on only lasted one season (12,000 miles)...very disappointing. I have a set of Shinko 777s on now, and  they seem to be doing ok. Too much front tire pressure limits crucial front tire traction. Steering and especially BRAKING traction is all important.

You really need to experiment with that pressure. I changed the fork springs and have had several brand tires on mine. 28 cupped the tires on the oem tires. I have used between 36 and 40 for many years.

Thanks, that's what I thought. Kawasaki recommends 28PSI. I just wonder why so low?

28 PSI seems low to me. I have had many motorcycles and that's the lowest recommended pressure I have seen. If I put 32-36 PSI, what would that do to the bike? Seems it would be better at slow tight turns.....
