Leaking Coolant?

Yeah, there is a vent hose for overflow... I wouldn't want coolant everyplace so I'd ensure a proper level by removing the excess.

     I just recently purchased a 2001 Drifter 1500, and I love it. The bike only has 6,000 miles. I noticed today a small amount of coolant under the bike. I pulled the side cover and noticed that the coolant reservoir was overfilled by the previous owner.
Would this cause the bike to weep coolant? Also, can any harm befall the bike as a consequence of the overfill? The question may seem silly but I'm concerned.
