Did I see somewhere you were selling these?  I am interested.

Since the seat grab rail mounts are the same on both models, this setup with work for both as well.....not sure if the grab rail can stay on with it (I don't have one to check it against), but it definitely makes one feel more secure on the back...plus you can mount a rear trunk with a backrest on instead....I have one I am going to try that with as well...

here is the rack and backrest setup for the oem 2-up seat....rack is tilt adjustable and the backrest moves back and forth up to 3 inches (centered in the pictures)

thanks...the backrest is attached via the underside of the rack.  There are 4 pre-drilled holes in the rack for attaching the backrest.  It can slide forwards and backwards up to 3" if you have the clearance.  Here is a pic of the backrest mount without the pad....

That looks awesome..I can't tell by the pictures, how is the backrest bracket attached to the rack?
I have a Corbin solo with seat rail and the rail is in the way of installing the backrest square tube, I already have a rack and may be interested in a backrest like yours if I can attach it to my rack.

really good...the back support, especially when using the highway pegs, is really nice...can ride all day and not get any tailbone ache.  We have been getting great weather (sunny and 78 F) so I have been putting some miles on the bike to get a good feel for it.....really liking the torque and power...

Nice & neat!
It turned out really well. How about the comfort?

I love my swingin' bike!

As some of you may have seen, I designed a tilt adjustable rack and backrest mount for the 1500.  However, when I tried to use it with the seat rail mounted as well, it would not fit between the rear most rail mounts because they angle in as they go up to the rail.  Of course, when I designed the setup, I did not have the seat rail on the bike... :o.  So I came up with a new design that extends the rack back more and allows the mounts to fit between rear seat rail mounts.  this is how it turned out...
