I agree with old drifter.

The original tire size on the rear is 140/90-16--  that's 140mm wide, the sidewall height is 90% of 140 and the rim is 16" of course.  The 130/90-16 is 10mm narrower -- and proportionally shorter of course.

Depending on your source of data - the 140/90 is 25.9" tall x 5.5" wide, the 130/90 is 25.2x5.1 -- Sure, this is only .7" shorter, which only puts you .35" closer to the ground --  but the circumference difference (READ:  GEAR RATIO) is also affected - 81.4 vs 79.2  - about 3%.  Plus the narrower width to consider.

I would make then get the right tire.

So my mechanic picked my bike up to install the new Metzeler 888 WWW I got and later called back and said the rear they sent was a 130/19 not the 140/19 I ordered. My mechanic picked them up before I was able to unwrap and confirm the size I just went off the packing list  >:( My question is will this make a difference in ride ability, longevity of the tire, support the weight, etc and if so in what ways? Not sure if this matters at all but I ride solo.   My mechanic said it will be .25in lower but did not want to comment on ride ability. I ordered through J&P cycles and after some back and forth they are going to pay for the return if needed but can already see it is going to be a hassle. Thanks in advance.

I say send it back and get what you ordered. You ordered a certain size for a reason. Let them make good for it. My 2 cents.
