Every year there are less veterans to stand proudly for their love of and dedication to their country. Very few WWII vets left.

 Was a good turn out for the service today.

The tradition with the poppies is as follows. The parade is normally formed up and the wreaths are laid. Once the last wreath is laid and all the people are back were they are supposed to be and all the speeches are done the parade is brought to attention, stood at ease, then brought to attention once more, then dismissed, and the formation marches off their three paces and they then remove the poppies and walk over to the cenotaph and lay their poppies in a pile at the foot of the cenotaph, taking one pace back saluting and then marching off as individuals. Not seen much now a days.

In the USA, we have Memorial Day which is sorta like your Remembrance Day. Today is Veteran's Day which is to honor ALL vets... it's a party day rather than a Remembrance/Memorial type day... though it seems to go that way sometimes.

Anyway, Canadians have been our good friends since 1814. Like family we sometimes have our disagreements and we run our households differently, when the SHTF we know we can depend upon each other.  I am moved by the Red Poppies that seem to "bloom" on this day!

Tomorrow is Remberance Day. Let's all take a moment tomorrow to remember those brave men and women who made the unltimate sacrifice, all those who fought and returned, those MIA, those KIA. May God Bless them and keep them, one and all.
