What about the size for the spotlights? I measured the headlight and came up with 6.5 inches, measuring the spots and they're 4.75 inches, so a 5" visor?

The spots are 4-1/2". Measure inside the trim ring.

seems the 7" ones are the answer, and the speedo visor is going to be hard to find now....keep looking......

ok did not know that a 900 will fit a 1500, but they do not fit a 800......

Anyone have the sizes for the lights so I can try to find some universal ones for my Drifter. Would also like to add one to the speedo housing..

The speedo visor I found for my '99 1500 is part number K53020-373B in black. The number for chrome is K53020-373. You can find them on Amazon and eBay. They are for a Kawasaki Vulcan 900, however they fit the 1500 Drifter like a glove.

Those visors on headlights and spotlights are way cool.  It a subtle change that looks awesome.

Glad you got it all figured out. Once again Ratman to the rescue. He helped when I did mine as well. Figured out mine was missing the wire needed and called company and they sent one out to fix issue.

Everyone should be thankful to Ratman and Troll for their continued help and guidance on our beloved Drifters.

Thank you

OK, as usual I was overthinking this. I opened up the top two of the tree tabs on the stainless ring around the headlamp glass. Then slipped the thin lip of the visor under the stainless ring and re-crimped them. It was a very simple process, took less than 5 minutes. It took longer to get that damn bar-code sticker residue off the visor.

Got all three done now,

Yup just that narrow little lip and so I put 2 side body molding tape on it, slide it through that gap pushed it into place and then the spring steel to hold it. It has never moved while riding. But if I grab it I can move it a wee bit. I can also slide it to the left and right a bit. Not really happy with it, but it never moves while riding so not a big deal........

OK, I do have the headlight assembly out of the bike. I think I understand how you did yours. See the thin stainless band on your headlight around the glass with the tab. That's where I have to put mine, under that thin stainless band. Not in the space between the thin stainless band and the wide chrome ring. That space looks like where you installed yours. Was your visor like mine? No tabs, just the narrow lip.

The way I did mine if I remember correctly was to take the 2 screws from the side of the headlight pod, allowing me to remove the headlight, I unplugged it. Then I had the pod in my hand, I then slid the visor into the thin gap (marked in yellow) first picture.
then the thin piece of spring steel I wedged the visor in place the little lip on it keeps it from sliding out.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I revised the pics of the stainless ring and the tabs on the back. I really don't intend on removing the wide chrome mounting ring and the adjusting mechanism. I plan to leave them intact while I do this. Again this is a generic visor not F&S Kaw. I'm thinking of opening the two tabs circled in pic, move ring out just enough to get the small visor lip under it.

I must agree with my learned fellow 800 rider on the 800 you remove the chrome trim ring, and with a F&S visor there came a length of spring steel. You slide the visor in from the backside, and then put the spring steel in place and it holds the visor in place. If you think this is a royal PITA then wait till you do the spotlights.......

you have to pop the headlight out of the actual ring..the mount clips just flip up.  Then you slip the visor into the headlight ring from the inside (you might have to form it a little to get it right)  Then just put the headlight back into the ring.  get everything oriented correctly before putting the mounting clips back in.  It's kind of a pain to do by your self...a third hand would help just to hold things in place...I did my headlight and spotlights a few weeks ago....I accidentally rotated my spot lights 180 degrees when putting them back in...not sure if that really matters on them, though...DOH!

edit:  after review your pictures a little better, your headlight is different than mine.  however you can do it, you need to remove the headlight ring and slip the visor in from the inside and then put the headlight back in behind it....make sure you mark your adjustment screws first so you can put them back to the same settings.

I recently got a headlight visor and I'm trying to figure out how to install it. It looks to me that the stainless ring that's crimped around the glass must come off, at least from the top edge. Is this correct? The visor is a generic one, not Kawasaki. It has a narrow lip (the white is a protective covering). Enclosed are some pics. Thanks
