As far as I know Mustang never made a seat for the Drifter. They did make seat covers. I suspect the PO added the Mustang label, but who knows. You may have the only Drifter seat ever made by Mustang. It is, of course, an exact duplicate of the Travel Horse seat.  Interesting, may take some research.

I think your right. I stand corrected and have misspoke and after reinspecting every part of the seat and I thought the badge had the word Mustang on it with a horse.

It does not say Mustang anywhere on it just a horse thus the name of company Travel Horse.

The only seat badge is a horse with another symbol which must have the meaning Travel Horse.

Here the pic of badge.

Thx

I recently bought a 2 up Mustang Drifter 1500 seat and was looking at the Drifter seat history and it was not listed.  It has an Mustang badge on it. It appears and looks like the exact style and make of the Travel horse brand but mine has the Mustang tag and its stappled to the double seat frame.

It is made and looks way different then the standard double seat.

Does anyone have this seat?  Likes or dislikes if any.

It looked so cool and comfortable design,  I bought it but wish it was black.  My solo stock seat is black. My future mudflaps and tank bib and most accents are black so not sure how the brown seat will flow until I get the bike put all back together.

Maybe Mustang made them for Travel Horse orTravel Horse made them for Mustang. It does look like the same seat.

If anyone has a tan seat on their Drifter and black accessories then post a pic. Thx

I did not think the seats between a 1500 and 800 are interchangeable? Or are you making some mods to make it fit?

Your right the 800/1500 seats are Not interchangeable.

Iam only talking about my 1500 seat with Oem 1500 frame /mounts made by Mustang that is an exact Replica of the Travel Horse Double seat design that the history of seats info said Travel Horse was out of business. Just looking for more history about it since it's made and looks nothing like a standard double seat and has to be the same maker which is Mustang.

My double seat pictured is a  standard 1500 seat frame and stapled seat cover that mounts to the 1500 the same as my stock solo seat does. No mods. All oem mounts.  The pics from Travel Horse are a reference and the same seat design.

I could email Mustang and ask if they know the history of it.

The po did not. He said you sit lower in the seat then stock and the back portion acts like a drivers backrest.

I bought the seat from eBay and the owner was selling the seat and Drifter separately. I ended up buying both.

Here the pic of the Travel Horse seat pics.

The solo looks like the same material two tone as mine the same colors of leathers and the double is the exact design of my tan double seat to include the number and placement of the conchos with tassels that are on both seats.

It appears that Travel Horse was made by Mustang.
