Crankcase vent

I did away with all that extra plumbing when I grampsized my air intake. Way too complicated and restrictive - the air system and the vent system too. (IMO)

So what's the story with putting on aftermarket crankcase vent? Is the OEM vent inadequate?  I have aftermarket pipes and I have jetted my carb, I've also done the desmog (mine was a California bike) – is the crankcase vent something I need to do too?  I still have the stock air cleaner.
