You can do whatever you want with your bike, just because of YOUR own retro-look...

Yeah, I'm trying to stay with the retro look, so that little (black) electronic tach is very discreet. Here's another option for those of us who hate digital stuff ha ha http://www.ebay.com/itm/151858545855?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT. I'm close to pulling the trigger on it, because it isn't very expensive and being a dial with a needle it helps keep the retro look.

I think the Drifter should have as less tech stuff as possible, because of her nice and clean retro-look.

Yep, I'm staying between the wet dog and screaming range, but it's still nice to know what your RPMs are.

Like I tell my rider ed students...if it's screaming, shift up, if it shakes like a wet dog, shift down....The owner's manual has a speed range listed for each gear...

I was waiting to see where this was going to go. I do not have the tech ability to mount one, but I should have mounted on prior to doing the sprocket swaps to see the actual numbers. Hope this works out for you.

Okay, so nobody's got an opinion about having a tach on an 800 drifter, eh? I'm surprised. I feel like I want one, not because of over-revving but quite the opposite--wondering if I'm lugging her a bit much and want to see how low I am on the R's. Not a big deal but again it would be nice. Hard to believe nobody else has rigged something, either with a cable or electronic

I really wouldn't mind having a tachometer, has anybody tried one of these? http://www.ebay.com/itm/191542764109?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT. I had one on a single cylinder bike I had and it worked great, but I don't know about hooking it up to a V twin. If not that one, could you recommend a good one?
