2001 oem solo seat fit on a 1999 ?

Great I think I am all set then,.
Here is a pic of my bike with the seat that it has on it now.

I think it is a stock seat, at least it looks like th stock seat with fringe.

Yep, as long as you don't have a custom seat on there now... the oem brackets have to be moved from seat to seat... or you have to make an extra set.

So your saying I wont need to buy any because I have the L brackets on the bike now with my stock seat?

Thats what I was hoping to hear.
These seats dont come up very often and especialy at the price I paid so I am really happy that it is going to work.

Yes, you have to take the "L" brackets off your existing seat and put them on that seat.

Unfortunately, you cannot purchase these brackets from Kaw... but you can make some if you are so inclined... Yes, there is a pattern etc on the mods/tips portion of the accessories board.

Hey guys,
The seat came today, can someone look at the bottom and tell me for sure this is right?

It does not look like the bottom of the seat another member has for sale and showed me.

I wonder if it is because the brackets or mounts arent included.

The guy I bought it from said that the mounting bracket was not included and that when I pulled off my stock seat I would be able to use that mounting bracket.

I just want to make sure I have the right seat and the bracket that is on the bike now will work to mount this properly.

I assume so but I just would like to hear someone who knows for sure tell me it will be ok, lol.
I will see about postiong a pic, otherwise I will put it up in my gallery.

I attached a pic of the bottom of the seat so if anyone could let me know if this is going to work on my bike so I Can take a deep breathe and relax that would be great, lol.

Well thats great news.
The seat should arrive today.
I bought it on the guys word but he wasnt positive ansd with my luck what ever can go wrong will.
Anyway the seast I bought just doesnt look like the stock solo seat that was available so I Was worried.
IT is supposed to arrive today so I have only seen a pic of it and had to go by that.

The thing is I am picking up my drifer a week from Thursday although I already bought it and have gone to check it out I needed time to reg and insure and the weather needs to be clear so I can drive it home.

So if the seat didnt fit I wouldnt know until I go to pick it up and then it would be too late to return it if I needed to so I am very relieved to hear that it will fit.

I was able to grab the seat for $139.00 since I am having it re-covered in new leather to match my bags I couldnt see buying a new one or spending any more than I needed to.

Yes it will. All of the 1500 Drifter seats use the same mount style.

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone knew for sure.
I can get an OEM solo seat from a 2001 kawasaki drifter 1500  part number 53001-1942 but will it fit on my 1999 1500 Drifter?

Any information would be greatly appreciated.
