Impressing the grandchildren.

A couple of years ago I did an Iron Butt run on the Drifter, last year I did a Brit Butt tour, my grandchildren weren't at all impressed that I am one of the world's toughest riders, They just accepted it.

I installed a talking alarm on the Drifter that says "Stand clear this bike is armed" and other things, they just accepted it as normal, After that I fitted 10 metres of blue and red LED lighting around the bike, they just shrugged.

They live 280 miles away from me in another country, when I turn up at their door, it's just. "Oh hello Grumpy, Come on in" Not a thought for the journey on a motorbike.

With all the i-Pods and action films that they are bought up on these days it takes a lot to make a child say "Wow." I reckon if father Christmas dropped down the chimney and left them presents they wouldn't bat an eye, not that we are allowed chimneys in Britain anymore due to the clean air act.

John.
