1. Extra horn, DONE.
2. Signal light grills, DONE.
3. Risers, DONE
4. Front Hub Cover, it is on its way from the UK.
5. Wind Screen lowers, DONE
6. Rear Signal lights turned into signal/Marker lights DONE
7. Serrated heat shields, cancelled due to lack of proper parts
8. Grampasize Carb, because GB told me to do it. March project
9. Tear Drop tool box, mounted, out getting powder coated..

I was just looking out for your bike man!  Wouldn't want it to be impounded and then have it "disappear" while in custody!

Ratman, you might want to look at local laws regarding rear running lights colors.  Those lights have amber lenses on them, and here in Indiana, and many states as well, it's illegal to have amber running lights on the rear.  The quick fix is to swap out the amber lenses for red ones, which are legal.  Ebay is your friend on this!

When I first started thinking of this I decided to check into this question. First off went and looked at a lot of new bikes and noticed that if they had amber signal light lens they had big huge rear tail lights. I could not see any that were the way I was looking so went to the next level, went to the three shops in town that actually do safety checks and inspections prior to plates being issued to a bike, I explained slowly what I was planning on doing and what lens covers are required, ok.
Then I went to the local police station and asked to speak with anyone familiar with motorcycle and traffic issues, well the 2 officers I talked to could not have lit a 1157 bulb on a good day, never got a firm answer.
So then I went to the OPP station, (like your State Troopers).....again asked for someone versed in the laws of motorcycle laws.....he said it was not a real law anyplace. Ok thanks for your time. and left....
So anyway I am going to go with my own thoughts here and replace the amber with red, because the extra red will be more visible, and really good in bad weather. When the signal lights flash it will be even more visible and eye catching then amber.

First was the motorcycle crash took out her knee. Then the dune buggy flipped she took out the kc lights with her face then as soon as she was done with physical therapy an was walking riding again boom pregnancy. Our out of tye house life has been dead for 3 yesrs lol

This post needed more pics!!!! So here we go. I bought these a few weeks ago put then on last night. I love the throttle boss on the end pf the throttle grip very relaxing. Will post picsof them on the bike at lunch

I have those on my bike and I love them.  I bought a second throttle boss for the other side as I like symmetry.  I've had them for years and they're quite comfortable.

Also, I agree that this thread needs more pics, so until Ratman does his pictorial breakdown of all his mods, I'll show off my throttle bosses.

Best way i have ever found to do that is to get a hot raunchy blonde that hates the cold an keep her warm in bed all winter. Though this only ever actually worked out successfully for me 2 out of 30 winters soo your results may very slightly lol

 Surprises are not fun always, this topic had been talked about at sometime, and I had this idea by just buying a couple of 1157 bulbs and the plug ins from an auto supply store, but then when I came into the parts and the front signal lights were in there I decided this was an easy way to do it, and yes the blots are different lengths so I am going to swap out the parts, then I'll have 2 sets of rear signal lights for sale if anyone needs them......lol......

  yes well aware of that, and have it planned out how I am going to wire the third wire into the harness.

When you remove the taillight assy, you will discover that the rear turn signals have a special 2 wire plug that connects to the harness, and the front ones use 3 bullet connectors......

  Duckies Fan, no I recently came into a box of 1500 parts, and decided to keep the front signal lights for myself, and put them on the back of my bike and so it is a simple wiring job and easy for me to do.

Winter project.... ride bike everyday all winter an buy new white wall tires

Just a few winter projects for the old '99er:
1) install a power port in the side cover fro battery tender and GPS support.  DONE
2) Install pull back risers.
3) Touch up the boo boo when I accidentally bumped into the rear fender with the lawn mower.
4) Touch up the boo boo from the bolt in the bottom of the springer seat that somehow managed to come down and kiss the top of the fender. (Bolt removed)
5) Build a seat rail
6) Build a new back rack for my single seat. (or modify my two-up rack to fit)

Beyond that I discovered I might just have a real money-making opportunity. Since I haven't ridden the bike since early summer I realized that I currently have a tank full of gas.  Back then I paid $3.85 a gallon for the gas.  Gas is now $2.91.  I wonder if  can sell the gas in my tank for a profit?

For #6 on your list did you buy the kuryakin light controller kit? My bike had one for 7 years put on by the p.o but she melted last week an i am trying to decide weather or not to buy another

  No cabin fever not even close, this is preplanning, like laying in a winter of fire wood, this is getting a lot of meals ready and into the freezer, all the comfort foods so we can spend more time doing other chores that need doing, so as time allows you get things done, today will be cooking a huge pot of moose stew for the freezer, and while that is happening then get the under lay and the plywood ready for the living room. Rain has stopped and now perhaps we will get some sun and I can wash the bike or do the oil change.

    When you come up for the Biker Reunion this summer with the Missus, I'll make sure we have enough for all of us for at least one meal.......oh and cod tongues, those are an awesome experience to eat.

Fried Cod Tongues

Newfoundland Recipes-Cod Tongues1-www.saltjunk.comMakes 4-6 servings

Ingredients:
2 lbs cod tongues
½ cup all-purpose flour
½ tsp garlic
Salt & pepper
4 tbsp pork fat (or vegetable oil)

Method

Rinse cod tongues under cold water and pat dry.  In a container (or plastic bag) add flour, garlic and season to taste. Add cod tongues and shake well until evenly coated. In a skillet, med-high heat, fry cod tongues in pork fat until golden brown. Serve with a white sauce and your favourite side dish.
