With a tube in a tubeless tire, blowouts are very rare. Flats are usually not the blowout sort.

I had a flat on the rear, but it wasn't very noteworthy at all really.  This last spring I was riding through horse country and suddenly I heard a ticking from the rear.  I pulled over to look for the problem, but there was nothing.  Knowing that there may be more to this, I rode a mile up the road to a bar and grill and had some lunch.  Good thing I did, because when I came out, the rear was flat.  Called a flatbed and brought her home.  Not too exciting, but then again, that kind of excitement is highly over rated!

Have anyone of the members ever had a blow out on one of the rear or front tires?  If so how horid was the damage... I imagine a blowout on the rear of a drifter would not only be scary but catastrophic to the rear fender, saddle bags, passenger seat ect. My budfy had a rear tire blow on his plastic crotch rocket an the whole ass end of the bike was destroyed fender rear seat taillight setup license bracket an turn signals all destroyed

How many tires did you go through on that 10k?

Just the ones I had on since 2012....the rear now has 22,865, and the front one I changed at 18,099, before Drift-In because I knew I was going to be abusing it. Here are pictures of both tires, as of about 1/2 hour ago. The rear still measures just under 4/32, but I'm replacing it over the winter...

Come to think of it, I wonder how I'm doing.  I started this year with 46k on the clock, and I passed 50k quite some time back........
