Looking good. I'm a two tone guy too. Makes the shape of the bike fenders stand out.

While it is possible that i am biased i think 2 tones are the way to go lol
.
.i have been calling her bertha but my wife says she is more like ethyl from the ray stevens song the streak  lmao
.
. She was an ugly old bird that burned the eyes of all who saw her naked but now she has clothes on again an much much better

2 tone is the way to go see my other post on painting her up. My bike might very well wind up looking like a rookies hack job of paint but it will look WORLDS abkve where it was when I bought her

We have 2 rescued dogs so I can understand the desire to take in that maltreated machine and give it a good and loving home.  ;)
Hopefully it will be able to forget the tortured past...

I know, right?  Remember, you asked for it!   ;)  No fears though!  The one that did that no longer owns it and the new owner is putting it back right!

moose it is your ride if you like it then the heck with the rest and go with what you want, you are not following the pack now because you have a Drifter, so go with what you want........we do not need to all walk around in our orange and black clothing, and ride the same colour bikes........

Well, now I'll have to say I HAVE finally see a two-tone I don't particularly care for....  er, 3-tone..  :o

The front fender is dark blue and white... side covers are black..That bike has been to Alaska several times. It DOES have white walls, though!

Jimbo,
Damn nice!!!!
If Kawi would have done black over red instead of the other way around, that would have been my first choice hands down!
Good luck and keep us posted!

I've only seen one that didn't look good. It's frankendrifter. These are stories behind the look:

Love the FrankenDrifter!  I've seen a number of red/black combo so I decided to reverse the colors and go with black over red.

JMBO isn't that the paint scheme from Indian ??? I too have always liked them colors together . Gota keep the white walls though brother . They just give off that classy old school finishing touch , imop .

Here's the color combination I am going with. - Red, Black, with silver pin stripe and chrome fender accents.

That's a good pair.  Black and red have always been high on my "like" list.  I considered it for mine, but I think I want something with ivory or tan-ish in it.

That's going to look good, keep us posted.

Probably won't be able to make the Drift In.
Imma play my cards close to the chest for a while.
I have a feeling some people will like it and a lot of people will think it's a waste of time and money.
That's why I invested in new fenders and a tank and will store the originals.
But my sketches look good and the concept is something I've wanted my whole life.

I don't blame you  ;D wait and surprise us.  As long as you like it, it's your bike.  Can't wait to see it.

Nothing happened. Still have the original fenders, soon to be in storage.
I'm just going for a total change of clothes.
Got the paint started yesterday.  It'll be a while, but I can't wait to show you guys and gals!

SO you, too - what colors you going with?  If it's not too soon to share???

On this note--what about the rear fender?
I picked up a couple fiberglas fenders from Oldys for my winter project.
They seem ok, I suppose, but they aren't drilled and I need to remove the originals for proper reference.

The rear isn't as hard as it looks either.  Not really bad at all.

So what happened to your original fenders that you're replacing??
