This is the best bike I have ever owned, I love the early warning light, I never use the odometer but I usually ride flat out so I get about 100 miles before the light comes on and I'm happy with that..

I'll bring a tow strap.... ;D

Nahhhh, it's going to be like riding with a guy with a sportster....50 mpg, but only a 2 gallon tank!

That should make our little upcoming trip pretty interesting....I usually stop around 175-180 for fuel.

That's good to know - I haven't logged enough miles on the 1500 yet to have it all figured out, but every time the push-me light came on, I was more worried about getting to a gas station than apparently I needed to be.

I'm the same as Drift1, always at 130 miles, haven't tried to push it and see how far I can go yet.

Hi PC:

Ya, with really rough calculations, it's seem my low fuel light is starting to flicker with the tank just under half full!  Note though I spend a lot of time riding in mountain areas so a lot of UP and down riding which I guess would make the light 'flicker' earlier than if riding on level ground.

Most of where I ride is pretty level ground, and it pops on anywhere between 145 and 155 miles.

Think we can all relate to having plenty of fuel left , when the light starts to come on . Mine starts to blink at 130 miles religiously , and I have approximately 1.4 gallons of fuel still in the tank or better . Wonder why Kawi had the light come on this soon ?

Mine comes on at 3.5 gallons, almost exactly every time. When my fuel gauge needle lines up with the E mark, it takes 4 gallons....I'm pretty brave, so I run it about another 25 miles or so, after it hits E, and the most I ever put in was 4.5

I've noticed that my warning light comes on long before the tank is anywhere near empty too.  I have a 5 gallon tank and the most I've ever put in it is 3 1/2 gallons.

I was out for a slow cruise on Saturday.  Coming back, my low fuel light came on solid (after going on and off for about 50kms (30 miles) but I had to go about another 50kms before hitting a fuel station.  I was worried that I was running on fumes at that point but it took only 15+ litres to fill up (half way up the filler neck).  I believe the tank capacity is 19 litres which would imply I had another approximately 4 litres to go  Does that make sense - that the reserve light would start flickering with 100 Km + 4 more litres before empty?

PS: not sure why I've owned this bike for so many years and am just noticing this now.
