Does this engine sound healthy to you guys?

Done and fixed! Adjusted the cable and some minor turning of the idle-knob and now it's purring like a cat again!

The pull cable is the one that opens the throttle, and the return spring on the throttle shaft is supposed to return it to idle. Loosening both cables up will let the throttle shaft move without any drag, but the most likely culprit is the pull cable...

No silly questions, Ive done some silly things in the past

The choke is not on, no. Not even a little bit.

The reason why I think it's the throttle wire is that if I give full throttle (engine off) and release it quickly, then turn on the engine again, the RPM seems to be noticably lower and normal. After a bit of riding, the idle RPM is back to being high again.

Is it really the pull cable I should be adjusting? Not the push?

Silly question, but is the choke on, even a little bit? Loosen the 10mm lock nut on the throttle pull cable and turn in the 8mm adjusting sleeve and see if the RPM changes.

I'm having some trouble with my idle rpms which I feel has been unreasonably high as of lately.

In an attempt to fix it, I went searching for the other end of the throttle wire (not the one at the handlebar), but I couldn't find it. Behind the airfilter I did find one shiny screw that I tampered with, but I can't be sure if the idle rpm changed or not. I still think that it sounds quite high.

Does it sound too high to you guys? And where can I find the end of the throttle wire? I'm pretty sure it's the wire and not the idle rpm setting.
