That may be fine once you get used to it.  This little chinese scooter thingy might even be OK once you get used to it.  The weird thing is - like you describe the Spyder - it steers like a cross between an ATV and a motorcycle - which is OK when you're moving.  Problem is, I'd bet everybody that's ever ridden one EVER had tried to turn going slow before you get out and get up any speed.  When you turn going slow, the natural tendency is to turn the front wheels, but unless you lean a little bit, when you turn it wants to high-side on you and dump you off the side.   Like I said takes some getting used to.

I suspect the Spyder's engineering works a bit better than this thing...

The Spyder actually has some sort of a computer "thing" that once you lean so far over it will decelerate and you can not mess up the curve. But they are easy to turn and ride, and yes much like an ATV.

This is just another reason not to buy crap from third world countries...The design and execution of this "vehicle" are a combination of copy and, maybe paste....

So, a customer bought this a few weeks ago, and brought it into the shop.  It's a scooter, designed, obviously, to to look like a Spyder.  The thing is kind of neat, I guess, but not built very well.  It's imported from China, and they call it the "sunny".

Customer said he had to take it to a shop within a couple weeks of having it to get it to run.  He brought it to us b/c the front end shakes so bad you couldn't get over 30 mph without it being dangerous.  We tried balancing, but the tires are way out of round.  You can put lipstick on a pig... but it's still a pig.....

After balancing it was 50% better but not good.  put a couple of Michelins on it, and that made it 90% better.   The steering linkage is way loose on it, so any little bump in the road gives it a little shimmy, but it's way better than before.

Rear end like a scooter, front end like a quad.  Strange thing is, it leans like a bike.    Really throws you off at first - especially at low speeds.  You go to turn the front wheels, like on a quad, and it tries to high-side and wants to fall over and dump you off.  The customer put it in the ditch, I'm told, first time he turned it around.

Bottom line;  cute, but I'll stick with the Drifter.

Cute...yeah....like 10 miles of bad road.... ;)

Now one of the lads I work with has a Spyder, and the day I can not ride 2 wheels anymore I would really consider getting one of them. They are really comfortable and easy to ride, they do not handle like a bike and side car, nor a trike, but almost in between them. They have a lots of storage places and are easy to handle. The rear tire on a Spyder is almost three times the size of that one.....lol.....
