moosewing3, I'll sell you my longshot baffles if you are still interested.

Moosewing, you can purchase the baffles for Vance and Hines at J&P Cycles; don't see a listing for the Longshots baffles but they have them for the Straightshots which are the same diameter pipes and mufflers as the Longshots. Of you contact V&H themselves they can give you the info you need; they may even sell them separately.

I ride a 99 Drifter with Vance and Hines Longshots ... I didn't like the sound I got after removing the baffles so I wraped half the baffle with fiberglass matt and then used tie wire to hold it don't use to much fiberglass or it won't go back into the pipe just acouple of wraps .

If anyone who has removed their baffles is interested in selling them let me know, I personally am finding my bike a little too loud without them.

The longshots (and I expect most V&H pipes) have a screw holding the baffles in. Remove the screw, pull the baffle, and like Elmo say, plug the hole. It might lean it out a bit due to less restriction.

I don't know if you will experience anything but improved performance. I took My baffles out of the V&H's on my '99, had them sandblasted, and never put them back. If you do pull them out make sure there are no holes in the end of your pipes facing the fender. I had that situation and quickly put in a couple of long bolts; to stop it from burning my fender and have something in the pipe if anyone wanted to check the depth.

Back in 2010 several people removed the baffles on their V&H pipes...

After parking beside a few Harleys with very loud exhausts I have sort of been toying with the idea of removing mine for a short while to see what difference it will make..

My bike is a 1999 model first registered in 2000 and I am wondering if removing the baffles will affect the performance and if so, in what way..

As I am the sort of person that soon loses interest in add on's and modifications I would like to be able to replace the baffles after removal..so any suggestions will be welcomed.

Thank you..

John.
