Defender bumper

Just a thought, If someone with a 1500 could measure the width of the rear bunper. You'd have to use a big caliper and get the ouside measurement. That will give me an idea how much difference between the 800 and the 1500.

I knew there had to ' some ' difference somewhere. It attaches at three points. The back bolt that holds the rear stock rear bumper to the rear fender and on each side of the bumper with two rubber clamps ( something like hose clamps ) so it can come off with no damage to the bike. its aluminum tube so its light. I was thinking of donating one to the site , you could try it on the 1500 to see if it fits. The main measurment would be the width of the stock bumper. Let me know how to do the donation part.

There is a difference between 99/00 and the rest... I really don't know how your bumper attaches, so not sure how it works. You can send one for me to test fit, if you like and I will return it... or look for a 1500 owner in your area. Use the Registry to see if there are any close.

The guy named George that sells the seat rail for the 800 which does not really fit used to sell a defender bumper and he said it fit the 800 or the 1500. I am not sure if he still sells them or not. I will say though you did a very nice job on yours and I would love to have that on my 1500 but I was always afraid to purchase from that guy after all the trouble others had with his products.

Made my own version of the defender rear bumper for my 02/800. Was wondering if it will fit other Drifters. No one I know of around here has a 1500 so I have nothing to compare it to. Its a direct bolt on no drilling required. Besides the black/chrome versions on the 800's are all the rear bumpers the same? Is the 1500 the same size with same mounting points? Thanks.
