I can tell you, I will be last in line when we do that ride.  I don't drive fast at all.

Drift1

Troll as a Veteran rider and instructor for many moons if you had trouble keeping up practice is definitely in order for me .

GB .... I'm thinking one of two things here
1) leave about 20 minutes before the pack

2) draw a straw to see if you get the last spot or my self  ;)

Either way looks like I'll have a riding partner for the dragon

Yep, practice is in order for that.  I plan to take a trip to southern OH later once the 1500 is back on the road.  I'll probably be in the back of the line, though - that way no one will get upset with me for holding them up....

Leading...no I was about 1 second behind them, with is at least 3 turns! I caught up, Takes a little getting used to, this was my first time. I did much better on the way back.

Troll that dragon sure looks like a nice road to travel  8) Were you leading the pack on this video ? The reason I ask is because the only other riders in the video are riding in the other direction . I'm definitely going to have to find some road around here to get my practicing in .

the "red thing", which happens to be the inside top of the bubble nose fairing.

I thought that's what it was, but I didn't want to jump to conclusions.

Troll

Here's a couple of minutes of one of the easier sections of the Dragon. Just so you know what's coming up in August!

It's all an experiment. I don't know what the camera sees until I get home and look at it. I believe I can fix the "red thing", which happens to be the inside top of the bubble nose fairing.

Not bad....not bad at all!  The red piece in the foreground does the jello thing a little, but not bad.  Can the camera be mounted in roughly the same place but a little more forward?  I think if you got the back edge of the red piece out of the frame then the jello effect would be much less noticeable or maybe go away altogether.

Troll

I created a new account because if I used my id I already had, it would convert all my Picasa stuff to youtube, so yes that's my first upload. Goes pretty easy. The camera is mounted on the handlebar in the space between the risers, right by the fork crown nut....Any place else and I get the dreaded jello....I'm playing with the angle to get the best view. Not much space to work with on the "W". You better find some place with curves in Ohio...the Dragon has 318 (switch backs, hair pins, elevation changes) in 11 miles, and I do believe we're going to be doing it, again!

Nice video, Troll I have to admit, I can't figure out where the gopro is mounted, though?  Good perspective.

Is that your first post on youtube?  how did that go?

Are you kidding? EVERY car in Wisconsin is grey during the winter...Most people have a "winter" car and a "good" car..All but the cheapest people use the automatic car washes in the winter that have an underbody flush included....

There are quite a few Chevettes around here, and they were well made. If they get a modicum of care, 200,000 miles is not uncommon.

Do they not salt the roads much in Wisconsin?  I'm thinking maybe they don't use the salt and brine like they do here (in the rust belt) - Every time there is a forecast of 3 flakes of snow or more, the state paints Brine stripes up and down the road.  It's literally been 4-5 years since I've seen a Chevette, Vega, or Pacer, or Ford Fiesta!

My first car was a chevy vega ....

Nice boat pics!  Do they have that thing sitting in a mud puddle??

There are quite a few Chevettes around here, and they were well made. If they get a modicum of care, 200,000 miles is not uncommon. They were designed to be inter-urban vehicles, not highway cruisers, and in their intended role, they are just fine. I owned a Vega for a few years. No problems with it, like some people have reported...I would have another one, if I could fine the KammBack wagon sedan-delivery version!.
I have another reason to carry a camera...I was down in Prairie duChein today, and look what I found! The L.Wade Childress sank in Iowa in 1985, Got caught in the ice when the winter closed in, was raised, and now sits here...why, I don't know.. but there it is...something you don't see every day, unless you live around here! My favorite overlook is open again, too. I had a nice 120 mile ride just because...

Naw, the Taurus is a dime a dozen around here, but the last Celebrity I saw moving on it's own was years ago.

I have no problem with owning one of these, I only drive a car in the winter, so the fact that the a/c in these was virtually non existent wouldn't bother me, and the 258" 6 that powers these is a boring but reliable engine. The only thing that I can think of that would make it a problem is the coil over upper wishbone suspension, just like a little ford. They go through upper ball joints in very short order.

I personally think Troll that you would look really cool , almost like a benevolent Santa driving about in a Pacer.......and with your skill you could make a first rate daily driver.....

We have lots of Celebritys up here that are daily drivers...That A body was a well built car. You must be confusing it with a taurus

Wow!  An AMC Pacer!  Was it the rare "still moves under it's own power" kind, or did you even ask?  That's almost as rare as a Chevy Celebrity that still moves under it's own power!

Troll

Here's a shot of his official Wisconsin Dealer Disclosure form: The price is $3550.00...actually not bad for a car with 70,000 miles on it.

     8)  AMC Pacer = a fish tank on wheels..........

Troll; Sir what was the asking price on this fine specimen of American Car Manufacturing?
