The weather broke in my favor. We didn't have a Spring, as usual. It went from 30's over night to 60's, and then from 50's during the day to 80's in like a week. I'm happy, now it's finally warm enough to ride without several layers and a sweatshirt under the jacket! Went out for my annual visit my parent's graves ride, today. I have some pictures that explain why you should NEVER leave home without a camera....I found, just sitting in a guy's driveway, a '56 Pontiac Star Chief in original condition, and a pretty nice (for what it is) AMC Pacer at a used car lot....AND. LOOK at the trip mileage reading, and the fuel gauge needle...I got 48.6 MPG today. If you don't post a picture, then it didn't happen! I stopped for lunch at a cute little riverside park in Ojibwa, WI...That is the Chippewa river in the picture...Temps got up to about 80 today..OUTSTANDING!!!

;)  we were having a heat wave the temps were in the mid to low 50's so of course I took advantage of this weather and did some soaking  up of the sun and worked on my tan........

;) Yesterday was the 3rd day of our Long weekend and it was really nice and I got a decent ride in then came home and under my new sun shelter got to sit and watch the BBQ, had some nice ribs and it was a good ending to a long weekend.

So, I'm guessing it was above freezing there? Hard to keep the coals lit when it get's that cold...

Seems like you left Kansas at just the right time. The wind gusts were clocked at 48 mph in the Wichita area today. It calmed down to only gusting a little over 30 later in the evening which isn't near as bad so I got a short ride in running some errands. I'm sure some disagree, but 40+ mph takes all the fun out of riding for me so I just don't. Those days one of the other vehicles gets driven. Them temperature was nice when I was out riding though. I think it was just over 80ยบ F when I was riding.

Troll that sure looks like a fun road to ride  8)
I came back from military training in Kansas and had the chance to go home Saturday for a little while so I dropped the 1500 off to get the www's installed . I'll pick that up once I have a chance . Being I was home , and it was high 70's i mowed the yard packed up the saddlebags and rode MA-DEUCE  to Albany ( approximately 130 miles from the house ) to finish up my obligation . sure did feel great to hit the open road , but it's 98% high way riding so not as much fun as Troll had in the video .

OK! It's always nice when the weather guessers are wrong in your favor...Here's a link to a video I took this afternoon. The quality isn't what I'd hoped from Picasa, it's really nice in the original format...BUT..the last time I was up here, 2 weeks ago, there was snow!

Well woke up and the Forecasters were wrong again, for our May long weekend weather, this morning was clear and sunny, might have gotten as high as 60*F around mid day, but I did the lake ride again and this time I really went all out and went the other way......lol........did a spark plug swap yesterday after supper because I have never changed the plugs and so decided to put new ones in and everything worked out just fine.
Next ride take camera and put it in the new trunk.......

72 degrees...why wasn't it like that yesterday??? Oh well, it is TODAY!!!  86 miles of back roads...and I think I actually have a touch of sunburn, rather than frost bite!

I'm taking a week away starting tomorrow, I plan at least 1000 miles and I know the Drifter is good for it, Starting from my home town in South Wales I will cross the Severn bridge into England and ride to Alton Barnes to see the white horse....

John.

That sounds like a great trip John, I'm jealous.

been like 7 days of rain, thinking of asking people to donate some wood, for my ark..........oh well it is either snow or rain.......

Ratman, I believe they were forcasting more snow for you last night - hope they were wrong...  It got down into the 30's here, and there were frost warnings.   That's just wrong.

I'm taking a week away starting tomorrow, I plan at least 1000 miles and I know the Drifter is good for it, Starting from my home town in South Wales I will cross the Severn bridge into England and ride to Alton Barnes to see the white horse, this is a large horse carved into the chalk of a hillside, from there I will ride to London and follow the road through Essex to Felixstowe in Suffolk on the east coast of England..Years ago when the USA had a Airforce base in suffolk some people I knew took a weather balloon into Rendlesham forest near the base and draped it with strobe lights and towed it around the forest until some people from the base came to investigate, because the people from the base were very excited and shouting a lot it was easy to keep ahead of them and out of sight, the next morning the local papers were full of reports of UFO sightings and aliens spying on the base..so now there is a UFO trail in the forest, I'm going to visit that UFO trail..From there I will continue to the RAF war memorial at Mundesley, and then on to Baconsthorpe Castle in Norfolk..from there it's on to the Royal palace at Sandringham to look at the ruined church of ST James at Bawsey..and then on to the Kinema in the woods at Woodhall Spa in Lincolnshire, finally I will visit the Miz Maze at Wing in Rutland..You can google all these places and this may be all the riding I do until the end of May..or maybe not..

John.

252 miles today to see my friend who came in second place in a contest with a tree....The doctors sewed his head up and he looks good. He never has to decide where to part his hair, again...it's now permanent. It was supposed to be 65 deg, but they're still having winter up in Stevens Point...Silly me, I thought I'd be able to remove layers as the day wore on...I stopped in a little riverside park in Nekoosa on the way up for lunch. The pictures are of the Wisconsin River. The last time I stopped in this park, the place I'm standing in was under water!

Just got home from a Kansas mission with the military and have the weekend off to return Monday 0400 for another mission . Wind and rain like crazy , but tomorrow is suppose to be nice and the shop I always deal with is having there open house and 120 mile ride so hopefully it's nice weather . If so I'll join the festivities and take some pictures of the turn out . Troll like the others stated , you've done a fantastic job on your bike . Truly looks like a " BIKERS " bike  8)

I got my to do list covered this morning, so out I go...it's all the way up to 50! woohoo! The sky looks like rain, but the radar on tv says no. We are supposed to have another river flood crest this weekend, like the 4th one this year! I took advantage of the dry time and put on a few miles. Tomorrow and Sunday are supposed to to 60 and 70. I'm going to try to visit a friend who had an altercation with a tree he was topping....meanwhile, back at the River:
