I didn't pay attention reinstalling the tube and put the valve stem pionting to the brake side. I liked it better, for me it was easier to get to when on the kickstand. If your wife rolls it forward for you to get the valve stem to just the right spot! By the way, WHAT A DIFFERENCE THE NEW TIRES MAKE!!! put on the Mettzler me880's

They still sell tubes for our bikes with 90 degree valve stems on em.  I got my new tube last year when I order the tire.  It is just a real pain to make sure to READ the website and make sure the tube you are ordering has a 90 degree turn.  Also make sure they put the valve facing the driveshaft side and not the rear brake side.  Talk about a pain to get to.

I've never had that problem. Mine came with 90 degree stems and they do need to be installed at tire change time. Standard chucks work fine, but I use a long stemmed one (do it at home).

Tire pressure is extremely important so this is something I'd get resolved asap, personally.

Cheers.

Ok I know its sounds dumb but......  How do I put air into the rear tire of my 99 1500 drifter? There is no space for an air hose to lock in tight. I kind of figure I need a 90 degree curved  valve stem. I found  a couple but Im not exactly sure how they work. Do I just bolt or screw it on, on top of the current stem or does the inner tube need to be replaced? any suggestions or links to exact solutions would be appreciated thank you. O bye the way how do you guys do it when your out on the road and you need air in the rear tire? I have gone to all my local gas stations and none fit.
