Nice. These look a lot more convenient and useable than the WW. I like these because I can actually pick what tires  I want to keep on my car..

PORT-A-WALLS! Yup I used to have these guys on all my cars.  My '41 still has a set on it from the '60's.  They are a pain to get on right and they don't work well with radial tires (on cars) and they don't like curb bruises but if put on right they work well.  But they are not cheap and for me if all I'm after is looks I'll put on a set of Shinko WWs and be done with it.

I know all about hem. A friend had them on his '47 knuckle...Never had a set, myself...they won't stay on wooden wheels.

I got the Dunlop WW Tires. They grip fine and seem to be wearing well. But yeah; a shit to keep clean.

I would think they would stay put on the wheel since it's pinched between the rim and tire. I'm not much for the whitewall thing myself because it sounds like extra cleaning. The last upgrade I did this year was bullhorns.

  I did a bunch of reading on them and they had a mixed review, but I will stick with my real WWW tires for peace of my mind....

Those were popular back in my Dad's younger days; when he bought his latest Model A a couple of years ago, it had them on the tires; but they had all come loose. He told me they were the BIG thing for budget minded rodders and riders when he was young. You mentioned that Troll might have seen them when he was young.....I'm thinkin' they didn't use them on horse-drawn wagons.......

ELmo , pretty slick I'd say . Would have to a little research on the safety issue factor on these though myself . I'd be a little worry of this letting go off the tire and wrapping up in my front rim or something ? Wonder if Troll has any info or has in fact seen these before ?
