tank bolt size, please!

Here's the solution I found. Will bolt those on sing's bar, with a string on the circlip those should allow easu seat removal for on the road repair. Will post picture when intalled.

I also have to find a different way to attach those rear springs on my Singh seat to the mount.  Like you say, it's hard to take off to get to the battery.

The installation with one bolt on front and spring at the back is pretty standard, the only other option being a weld hinge. I think the thickness of the hardware is just a bit too much for the 30 mm oem tank bolt that screws in the frame,  now i Just installed a 40 mm m8 that goes trough the frame with a lock nut underneath as a double security, so should be fine. Also order new stiffer and a bit longer springs to replace the one that came with the kit and a pair of lugs with a circlip for quick cremoval of the seat if necessary. It seem that Sing didn't give much thought to ease the access to the battery area with the original design.

That sounds a little scary, but let me tell you how the MoCo mounted the ComfortFlex seat frame on my '78 E-Glide...They used the pogo stick in the front with a pin through it, and 2 hose clamps on the c\back to a cross frame member. I had those clamps let go with a passenger on board cruising the Interstate, one night.....BIG EYEBALL PRINTS inside my glasses! No recalls, just a "shit happens" from H-D.

Well THAT doesn't sound like much fun.   It's only held on by ONE BOLT?  That does seem a little lax.

Need a tad bit longer. Got quite an unpleasant surprise with the new Singh spring seat I installed recently. The front hinge attach to this bolt and the back of the seat is on two springs. While riding at 90km/h on a back road the bolt came loose and the seat dropped back, even though it was well thighten with thread lock, I retighten everything, and been riding carefully ever since and again yesterday it came loose at 40km/h. There seem to be a mojor design flaw with the hardware. The leather is good but all the hardware is pretty much indian crap work. So I want a longer bolt to be able to put a lock nut from underneath. Good thing nothing happen to anyone who bought this seat in the states or he would easily be sued for a few millions!!

Thank you so much. I guess it is he standard thread. So I guess this is an m8, 30mm long?

it is part # 130BA0830 8x30 $1.82 and require 2 to hold the tank on. As for thread I am not sure as I am not near my bike just my computer.

I'm far from my bike and need to buy a replacement bolt, the one holding the tank on the drifter 800 near the seat. Can someone please tell me the size and lenght? is it regular or fine thread. Thank you so much in advance for your help.
