Most  Drifters seem to have the V&H exhaust.  Good looking, sounds good , Makes power etc.
But, that rear pipe with the chrome "Heat shield"   LOL   Gets hot as hell.
If your short like me, that's a big problem.  I even have 'tall' friends that complain of this issue.

Relatively simple fix.
You still have your stock exhaust and shield laying around somewhere?
Drill out the two rivets. remove shield.
Remove "shield" from rear pipe on V&H...measure twice,  drill two small holes
Attach shield from old pipes.
Done!
Your leg will love you for it.

P.S the scratch was there when I bought the pipes...I have no idea how the previous owner managed to do that
